All you need to know about PLANCKS
PLANCKS is an acronym for Physics League Across Numerous Countries for Kick-ass Students. PLANCKS is an annual international physics contest for bachelor- and master students. The event will be a three day event and includes a symposium, the contest itself, an excursion, an informal get together with drinks, a party and the award ceremony.
In 2015 PLANCKS will be held in Leiden, The Netherlands from the twenty second of May till the twenty fourth of May. The symposium will be held in a theater in Leiden and the contest will be held at the faculty of science of Leiden University.
Participants of PLANCKS will compete in teams consisting of three to four members and they will have to answer very difficult physics exercises. The rules for PLANCKS 2015 can be found here.The costs for competing will be 50 euros per team, for which you will receive full access to the event. Lunch and dinner will be provided as well. Sleeping arrangement can be made by the organizing committee but will have extra costs.
Each country can submit a limited number of teams, this may differ depending on popularity of PLANCKS in you country and the size of your country. Some countries are currently organizing a preliminary for PLANCKS and the winners of these preliminaries will participate in PLANCKS, in other countries people can show interest and the participants will be selected by a random number generator.
Countries who are currently organizing a preliminary are Austria, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands, Portugal and Romania. If you are interested in organizing a preliminary your self please contact us and we will provide you with all the information you will need.
